Sponsored by the Century and a Half Club
The Century and Half Club will host their annual Pendleton Fall Creek Heritage Festival in Falls Park on Friday, September 9 and Saturday September 10.
An annual tradition for the past 35 years, the festival, which has been voted in the past as the best in Madison County, features hand crafted arts, crafts and delicious food from vendors coming in from all over Indiana, Ohio and even Illinois. This festival started in 1976 when the "Blue Belles", a local group of women, started the event to celebrate the Bicentennial. It began, 35 years ago, with just 15 booths and has since grown to feature close to 185 booths and this year will feature an antiques booth.
Other vendors will feature Roasted corn, "K" Burgers, kettlecorn, funnel cakes, elephant ears and even Pendleton's own TNT BBQ will be participating.
The falls on Fall Creek are a part of Pendleton’s heritage. For nearly two centuries, it’s been the focal point of life here. It only made sense, then, to preserve the area. The falls are at the heart of an expansive park that features nature trails, an Olympic-size swimming pool, meeting facilities, a historical museum, and much more.
Falls Park has been the setting for picturesque weddings, family reunions, and countless good memories. So much so the it’s more than recreation area – it’s a part of who we are.
